An Update on SLA Returning to Campus
Dr. Kenneth Rodgers, Jr.
President and Head of School
Dear SLA families, faculty, and staff,
Iām grateful to announce we will be returning to campus tomorrow and resuming our normal schedule. As always, we will lean on our pillars of community programming during trying times; we look forward to reconvening with our student body tomorrow morning during chapel, and we will break into Check & Connect groups during part of X Block so that students can share and reflect. The past week has been difficult for many of us in very different ways, and we are eager to return to the normal routines that provide us with stability and camaraderie. I will be off campus tomorrow morning meeting with other independent school Heads from across the city as we continue to coordinate our response to the ongoing crisis, but I hope to be back on campus and reconnect with everyone in the afternoon.
In the interest of safety and easing into the new semester, we will not be running after-school programming tomorrow or Friday. Additionally, air quality remains a concern across most of the city, and Hollywood is no exception. We ask that students bring face masks to wear during the limited amount of time they will be outdoors; we will also have masks available on campus.
Once again my gratitude goes out to everyone for their patience and support, and my thoughts remain with all those affected by the fires. Our lines of communication remain open, and any families continuing to face adversity should feel encouraged to be in touch with Mr. Watterson at watterson@school.la.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kenneth Rodgers, Jr.
