We are deeply saddened to hear about the loss of ESLA. Schools like yours are gems—places where students grow not just academically but as thoughtful, engaged humans! We know this because, in so many ways, our schools share the same heart.

At Citizens of the World Silver Lake Middle School, we believe in the power of diverse-by-design communities, where rigorous academics go hand in hand with collaboration, social-emotional learning, and a deep commitment to service and social justice. Like your school, we aim to nurture curious minds and compassionate hearts. Our ROOTS program encourages students to explore topics that shape our world, helping them build a strong sense of self, develop meaningful relationships across differences, and engage in real-world projects through an anti-bias, anti-racist lens.

We know that transitions like these can be difficult, and we want you to know that you are not alone. We invite you to come visit our brand-new, state-of-the-art campus, where many of our students are also new to the community—making it a welcoming place for families seeking a fresh start. Our intimate 6th-8th grade program is designed for middle schoolers and the developmental needs of this age range, making it a unique, thoughtful learning experience. We are currently accepting applications for our tuition-free public school, and we would love to invite you to meet our students, families, and staff, who, like you, were looking for a school that honors both academic excellence and the whole child.
